The Largent Learning Institute offers students a personalized technology education. I specialize in customized one-on-one or group lessons, with the philosophy that anyone can learn to use technology proficiently and more efficiently.

After working in the tech field for over twenty years, I completely understand how frustrating our growing dependance on technology can be. Technology has become such an integral part of our daily lives that it is no longer considered a luxury, or even optional — it has become a necessity. If you want to stay competitive in your profession, or simply stay in touch with loved ones, it is essential to have a basic understanding of personal computers, smart phones, tablets, social media, and other electronics like printers, smart TV’s, bluetooth devices and digital cameras.

It can also seem daunting to keep up-to-date with the latest technology advances, as it is constantly evolving rapidly. If you have not yet entered the tech world, you are probably overwhelmed, feeling as if  you could never possibly catch up. Even if you feel comfortable with the technology you currently own, updates to those devices, along with their apps and programs, are frequent. New technology is introduced so often that all of a sudden your skill set can become out-of-date overnight.

I founded the Largent Learning Institute because while technology can be frustrating, intimidating, and seemingly complicated, it is essential in order to function in today’s world. I am here to help you put the knowledge back in technology. Stop being frustrated, and learn to use technology to make your life easier and more fun, not more difficult.

I welcome students of all technological skill levels and all ages. My Largent Learners range from those with very little experience with technology who have never emailed or used the internet before, to professionals wanting to learn how to update their own website, to experienced web developers looking to hone their process.

I teach students either at a mutually agreed upon public location with wifi, or in the privacy of their own offices or homes. I will travel anywhere within Orange County and Chatham County to teach lessons, including Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Hillsborough, Fearrington, and Pittsboro. Students from other areas of North Carolina are welcome to meet me in Orange County for lessons.

For all new students, I quickly assess their current skill set, and then build on their knowledge at their own pace, teaching them to become more comfortable and savvy with the technology they own. At each Largent Learning Lesson, I jump right in on what they would like to learn, and also help them to troubleshoot any issues they are having with their devices.
